2 Months Old

Gwynn is growing up so quickly! By 3 months she’ll probably be driving and working a part time job at Applebee’s.

  • Gwynn is sleeping longer every week. She’s slept 7-8 hours at a time on several occasions.
  • She’s taking 4-5 oz bottles at a time and going 3-4 hours between bottles pretty regularly.
  • Gwynn is NOT sleeping in her crib. She prefers her swing (even if it’s not swinging) and will sleep for hours and hours. It seems she doesn’t like feeling exposed. We’ll work on her getting her in her crib one weekend we don’t mind staying up all night.
  • Daycare started at about 8 weeks. She’s adjusting well and they love her. We have her in a home daycare which is working out great. Mommy usually drops her off around 7:00 am and picks her up around 3:30 pm. Daddy gets to pick up on Fridays (when he doesn’t have a meeting) and Gwynn loves this surprise!
  • Gwynn is smiling at mom and dad as well as other people she’s met the last several weeks. When we pick her up from daycare she lights up – and it’s not just gas.
  • Gwynn is “talking” a lot. She used to only vocalize when she was upset and crying. Now she “talks” to us. She sounds more like a dinosaur than a little girl at this point though. Lots of “Rawwrrr” from her.
  • Gwynn is great at tracking things with her eyes. When she loses her pacifier (assuming she’s not going nuts) she’ll stare at it – before going nuts.
  • She’s not on a very strict schedule. She’ll generally starts her day with a bottle at 5:45-6:00am. Then she eats at 10:00am and 2:00pm at daycare. After that it’s pretty much whenever she’s hungry. In a perfect world she’ll eat again at 7:00 and again at 11:00. That way she’ll last from 11-5:30, but that doesn’t happen a lot. if she gets hungry at 5:30- 6:00 (which is most of the time) she’ll end up taking her next couple of bottles at inconvenient times.
  • Gwynn enjoys going places…it’s so easy just to put her in the car and pretty much go anywhere we need to. She’s been out to eat with us quite a few times and has never caused any trouble. A lot of people comment about how Gwynn is so sweet and laid back. We know we are very lucky to have such a happy baby. I know she is spoiling us for our next one…I don’t know if we can be this lucky again!
