Happy Halloween!

For Halloween this year we had the kids dress up and Minnie and Mickey Mouse.

On our trick or treating trek we had to get some wheels in case one of the two kids didn’t want to walk.

Gwynn was a bit hesitant at first.

Luke wasn’t very excited about the whole ordeal.

Someone put up a creepy old man doll by their door. I had to reassure Gwynn that not everyone would misjudge children tonight like this guy did.

Waiting for the door to open. Apparently many of our neighbors don’ t know that lights on out front = giving out candy.

This person took so long to answer the door Gwynn got tired of standing.

Luke was nonplussed.

DSC_3577

Gwynn enjoyed giving out candy more than she actually getting it herself, which is a good thing.

Carving a pumpkin

We decided to carve a pumpkin this year since Gwynn just loves pumpkins.

Here the kiddos sit back and watch mommy do a lobotomy on the pumpkins.

“This is where the medulla oblongata is.”

DSC_3460

Luke wasn’t too excited – he didn’t get it.

Touching the ickiness.

DSC_3465

Even Luke touched the innards.

DSC_3468

“Grooooooooss.”

Checking out what the inside of a pumpkin looks like.

DSC_3485

Luke had to have a pacifier just in case he tried to eat it.

Can you guess what it is? Yes, that’s right, it’s Andrew Jackson, our 7th president.

40th Anniversary

This weekend was Grandma and Pop’s 40th Anniversary.

photo 1

We decided to give them a frame with pictures of the kids spelling out a message. It was very… difficult.

First we tried to put them in a chair. No good.

Next we tried to sit them outside. Better, but they weren’t very smiley.

Gwynn did a good job by herself, but we were hoping to have both of them in the picture.

DSC_3248 - Copy

“Sit still Luke or you’ll never see your lovey again.”

DSC_3247 - Copy

“Mooooooom!”

DSC_3252

“Don’t you ever threaten my lovey again.”

DSC_3253

“I know where you sleep.”

DSC_3255

“I’m done!”

DSC_3258

We’re not sure if she’s posing for a gift for Grandma and Pop or if she thinks she’s been arrested.

DSC_3260

Trying whatever gimmicks we can.

DSC_3265

“Forget this… I’m out!”

DSC_3267

More gimmicks… that didn’t work.

DSC_3270

So we gave up for the day and figured it would be better next afternoon.

We were wrong.

DSC_3427

The boredom is palpable.

DSC_3428

“What’d you say? I can’t hear you over this crazy baby next to me.”

DSC_3434

“I stubbed my toe! I stubbed my toe!”

DSC_3439

Eventually we got some usable pictures. We took it down to Tuscaloosa and let Grandma and Pop open it.

Gwynn is very helpful when it comes to opening presents.
