Dinosaur Daze

Gwynn had a “Dinosaur Daze” party at daycare today.  They made hats to wear and Gwynn really enjoyed wearing hers!

First Day at Daycare

Gwynn did great at her first day of daycare!  I had a faculty meeting after school, so I was later getting her than I would have liked, but she still had a lot of friends with her!  I took a picture of Gwynn and Ms. Ouida when I dropped her off this morning…so sweet! 

Girls Trip to Tuscaloosa…

Gwynn and I went down to Tuscaloosa on Friday so I could go to a RISE fundraiser sale with Grandma (I found lots of great stuff for Gwynn at the sale!). Daddy stayed home because his middle school kids had a cross country meet on Saturday.  While my mom and I went to the sale, Gwynn stayed home with Pop.  We had a great time in Tuscaloosa, but Daddy was really glad to see us on Saturday afternoon…he missed us!

Don’t worry…Gwynn didn’t sleep in Grandma and Pop’s bed.  She was just hanging out in their bed while I went back to sleep (she didn’t sleep much Friday night).

In the pictures above, Pop and Gwynn were reading a magazine about planting vegetables.  Gwynn was very interested in learning about this…I know she can’t wait to try vegetables out of Pop’s garden!

Jeff and I went to a Knights of Columbus Dinner/Dance with Brandon and Abbie on Saturday.  Aunt Sherry came to stay with Gwynn while we went.  They had a great time together, but I didn’t get any pictures!  :-(

Ms. Ouida’s Daycare

Gwynn got to visit daycare today and meet Ms. Ouida (pronounced wee-da) and Ms. Bonnie for the first time. Ms. Ouida likes to have her new kids come for a short visit before they start full time.  It worked out perfectly because I had a dentist appointment today and could leave Gwynn while I went.  Ms. Ouida and Ms. Bonnie loved Gwynn.  They said she was so good the whole time (only 3 hours) and they kept saying how “pretty” she was.  There are 11 other kids at the daycare so Gwynn will have lots of new friends to play with while she’s there.  We were very blessed to find Ms. Ouida’s Daycare!

Taking a stroll…

We’ve been taking Gwynn out for walks in the evening.  The first picture is of Gwynn holding in her pacifier (I wish she would do this at night!) and the second is from our walk tonight.  We took out the head and body support cushion from the stroller and she held her head up so well!

Play time and Sneezes

Gwynn is really having fun playing on her Rainforest Play Mat.  She is finally starting to reach for and kick at the toys.  This is her favorite place to play! I also happened to catch some sneezes on camera…so cute!

Life begins at St.Vincent’s…

Grammy brought over the t-shirt that Daddy wore when he was born.  It just so happens that Daddy and Gwynn were born in the same hospital! 

Grammy* came to babysit!

Gwynn’s Grammy (Jeff’s mom) came to babysit today so I could go work at school and Jeff could take a much-deserved nap.  They had so much fun together!

*We’re still working on a name for Jeff’s mom, so this is subject to change! :-)

Gwynn’s day with Grandma

Gwynn, Grandma, and I did a little shopping after going to the doctor on Thursday, then we got to hang out with Gwynn’s cousins, Grace and Kate.  We all had a great time playing at our house!  Grandma got to spend all day with Gwynn on Friday while I went to work.  Judging from the pictures Grandma took, I think they had a great time together!

6 week Doctor’s Visit

Gwynn had her 2 month doctor’s visit today (she went a little early since she’ll be starting daycare soon).  She weighed 10 lbs 3 oz (75th percentile) and was 23 1/4 inches long (95th percentile).  Dr. Waldo said everything looks perfect…she’s gaining weight and hitting all of her developmental milestones on target.  He even commented on her great temperament.  We think she’s pretty perfect too! 

Gwynn got the following vaccinations today: DTap, Hib, Prevnar, IPV, and Rotarix.  She had 3 shots in her legs and one vaccine was given orally.  Thank goodness Grandma was with us because those shots were hard to handle (for me…not Gwynn!).  Gwynn did great.  She cried screamed uncontrollably for about a minute, but we gave her a bottle and she was fine! **Great tip from Dr. Waldo about the bottle**

Daddy’s Girl

Gwynn’s getting big!

We can’t wait to go back to the doctor to see how much Gwynn has grown.  A few times a day Jeff or I will say “Wow…she looks so big!” We think she looks bigger everyday! 

Gwynn went to “Uncle” Brandon and “Aunt” Abbie’s house for the first time on Saturday while Jeff and I ran errands.  She told us she had a great time and can’t wait to go back! :-)  On Sunday she got to spend some time with Grandma and Pop while Jeff and I went to a meeting at church. Here are some pictures Pop took while they watched her.

Back to School…

Well…school’s back in session.  I went back on Monday for 3 teacher workdays and I’ll go tomorrow (Thursday) for the first day of school, then I’m only going to work 1 day/week until I start back full time on August 29th.  That’s when Gwynn will start daycare.  Jeff started back today with a teacher workday and his kids will come back on August 17th.  It’s very hard getting adjusted to working again, but at least I’ll get to ease back into it. 

Gwynn’s been doing well.  She slept for 5 hours straight last night!!! Jeff fed her at 12:30 am and she slept until about 5:30!  It was wonderful.

She’s been having fun with her grandmother’s while Jeff and I are working. It’s so nice of them to come over and spoil take care of Gwynn while we’re at school. My mom (Grandma) even came on her birthday today!  Happy Birthday Grandma!!
