Veteran’s Park in T-town

While in Tuscaloosa we wanted to get the kids out of the house and do something that was cheap.

Veteran’s Park in Tuscaloosa isn’t very big, but it’s enough to keep the kids occupied for a half hour.

Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving celebration started at daycare with some crafts the kids made.

On the Saturday before Thanksgiving we made our annual trip to Columbiana for a pre-Thanksgiving day meal. It’s always tricky to get people together on Turkey day, so this makes sure everyone gets together even if it is a week early.

Kate’s Birthday Party

Mommy was on a girl’s trip in Gatlinburg and Daddy was going to the Mississippi State Game with Aunt Jen, so Grandma and Pop took the kids to Kate’s 6th Birthday Party! It was at Oak Mountain State Park and had a “Doc McStuffins”  theme…the kids were SO EXCITED!! Gwynn insisted on bringing all of her Doc McStuffins animals.

The kids gave their stuffed animals check-ups…

Visiting Aunt Jen in Georgia

We decided to take a trip to visit Aunt Jen for the weekend. The kids were looking forward to spending time with their cousins (and Aunt Jen and Uncle Jack).

The air mattress was a big hit!

On Saturday we went to the “Yellow River Game Ranch.” It was a little depressing seeing the animals fenced in or in cages, but some animals were allowed to roam free.

We were all pretty terrified of the chickens. They were very aggressive!

We all loved feeding the bunnies…

We spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get food to this bird. Since the bottom of his cage was opened we couldn’t just throw food in there and feeding him out of our hands was out of the question (he was a little scary).

Finally got it!  Jackie created a diversion on one side of the cage and I stuck a piece of food onto the side ledge of the cage. It took 4 adults with multiple college degrees WAY TOO LONG to figure that out!
