3 Months and counting

Gwynn is already 3 months old! Wow. Times flies. Hard to remember what life was like before her. We faintly remember sleeping through the night.

  • Gwynn is allllllmost turning over. It seems like she’s been inches away from doing it several times the past week. She actually seems to be closer to turning from her back to her stomach than from her stomach to her back.
  • Gwynn is awake much more during the day. Many times she’s awake after her 6pm feeding for several hours. She still loves to play on her rainforest play mat and we’ve added the jumper in the mix too (our living room looks like Toys-R-Us).
  • Gwynn sleeps much longer during the night (still not in her crib though). She’s slept from 7pm to 5am more than once. We are hoping around 4 months she’ll be ready for the crib, but you never know.
  • Gwynn eats between 4 and 6oz at a time…5oz at daycare. She’s gotten up to 7 oz when she was really starving. Right now, she’s eating at 6 am, 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm, and 10 pm if all goes according to schedule.
  • She’s quite the talker lately. She’ll do some give and take and it’s more than mere squealing. We’ll say something and she’ll talk back. Not words of course, but she’s starting to get the hang of it. Daddy is so excited to have two women in the house telling him what to do.
  • Gwynn had a little cold right before she turned 3 months. At first she had a runny nose, then a cough, then she got congested. She never lost her sunny disposition until Sunday when she got fussy. It turned out she had a bit of a fever, so we took her to the doctor Monday, October 3rd. The doc said she just had a regular viral cold and she seemed to recover just fine. While at the doctor they measured her. She was 12lbs, 13oz (75th percentile) and 24.75’’ tall (95th percentile).
  • She’s still a hit at daycare. Mrs. Ouida told us that Gwynn was her favorite, but she might say that to everyone.
  • Bath time is becoming much easier. We’re getting the hang of it and Gwynn’s able to hold herself up pretty well…we even took out the head supporter from the tub and she loves that.
  • Gwynn has a great grip and can hold onto things very well. She especially enjoys her ball that she can hold, throw, chew on, etc.
  • She still loves that pacifier! We can tell she’s becoming more aware of where it goes when it falls out. She’s put it back in her mouth after it’s fallen out 2 times…hopefully she’ll improve in that area quickly!
