Easter Morning

DSC_0799

Gwynn didn’t really know what to think of her Easter basket, but once she saw all of the MICKEY MOUSE stuff she was so excited!!

Uncle Jeremy’s Confirmation

On March 30th we went to Huntsville for Uncle Jeremy’s Confirmation.  It was a LOOOOONG mass that started at 8:00 pm, but the kids did great!  We went straight to the cry room when we got there…we weren’t even going to try sitting in the church this late at night.  Before the Easter Vigil we had a nice dinner at Julie’s house.

Not sure what’s going on here…

But Luke doesn’t like it!

7 months (Luke)

This was a BIG month for Luke.  He can do so many new things!

  • He is sitting up unassisted and can get up and sit on his own from any position.
  • He is crawling…not army crawling or scooting, but really crawling.  He is fast too!
  • He can pull up to stand on anything (couch, crib, mommy and daddy, etc).  He loves to stand up!
  • Luke even took a few steps while holding onto the couch.  We can’t believe all of this is happening so soon!  He’s not acting like a baby anymore…he’s such a big boy.
  • He doesn’t really like drinking formula anymore.  He’d much prefer to eat baby food (or real food for that matter).  We pretty much have to force him to take a bottle, just so he gets the nutrients he needs.
  • He still only has the two bottom teeth.
  • He’s wearing 9-12 month clothes and has even been able to wear some 12-18 month things. He’s wearing size 4 diapers like his sister.
  • He sleeps in his crib until about 4 usually.  He wakes up hungry, but will make it until 6ish if daddy puts him on his chest.
  • Luke loves playing with all of Gwynn’s toys. Gwynn doesn’t like this at all. His favorite thing to do is crawl over and knock down her blocks.  She gets so mad!
  • Mrs. Ouida said he doesn’t sleep much at daycare at all…he likes to be in the middle of all the action. In fact, he sleeps less than Gwynn does. She also told us that he “eats like a horse.” Looks like we have another good eater!

Trip to Pennsylvania

While we were in Pennsylvania, we stayed with Aunt Connie (my mom’s best friend since grade school). We felt like we were at a bed and breakfast…she was so gracious to open up her home to all of us (there were 8 of us staying there!!).

We were able to visit Mark, Amy, Nate, and Ana while we were in PA too (Mark is Aunt Connie’s oldest son). They have an AWESOME basement with lots of cool toys!

We had a really nice lunch at the firehouse after the funeral…it was so nice to see family we haven’t seen in years (Jennifer figured out that we hadn’t been to Pennsylvania in 21 years!).

The trip back home was not as exciting as the trip to PA (I guess the novelty of flying had worn off for Gwynn). We did have a close call when Mommy accidentally left monkey on one of the planes. We got her back though!

What a bittersweet trip this was!! I know Gram loved looking down at us celebrating her life with family we haven’t seen in ages. It was such an amazing trip and I hope it’s not another 21 years until we go back!

Flying to Pennsylvania

Gram’s funeral was held in Pennsylvania, so Gwynn and Mommy took a trip up there together. Gwynn did so much better on the flight up than I ever imagined she would.

Jackie, Grace, and Kate were flying out around the same time we were…we ran into them at the airport and the girls got to play for a little bit!

Gwynn was supposed to be in my lap for all the flights, but there was an empty seat on our flight to Chicago so she got to sit by herself.

She really enjoyed looking out the window.

pa16

And using the tray table.  She learned quickly how to pull it down by herself (which made it very interesting when they asked you to put it up for the take off/landing).

Making sure she knows what to do in case of an emergency.

We met Aunt Jennifer in Chicago and flew to Philly with her!
