Cheez-Its!

I was in the middle of getting Gwynn dressed one morning when she spotted Daddy’s Cheez-Its that he left sitting on the floor. She jumped up, ran over the Cheez-Its and started eating them.  She was so excited to have “cackers” for breakfast!

I thought it was really cute until she peed on the carpet…so we sat her on the potty and she continued her breakfast.

**On a side note…I wish I could have caught her temper tantrum on video when I took the Cheez-Its away from her and gave her a real breakfast.  You wouldn’t believe the screams that came from our sweet girl.

Decorating for Christmas!

Grandma and Pop know how much Gwynn loves Elmo so they bought us a light up Christmas Elmo!  Gwynn LOVES it.

We made sure to give Gwynn plastic ornaments to put on the tree.  She loved to pull the string out and throw the balls across the room.

Mmm….fingers!

Luke prefers his fingers to a pacifier these days.  He’ll still use a paci to fall asleep, but if he can find his fingers he’s very happy!

17 months old

17 months

We can’t believe Gwynn is almost a year and a half old!!

  • She’s getting more and more teeth every time we turn around.  We are scared to  count them because she will bite our fingers!
  • Gwynn loves to put on her shoes. In fact, she’ll put on anyone’s shoes and try to walk around.
  • We bought her an Elmo potty and have it set up in the bathroom downstairs.  We just wanted to get her interested in the idea of going potty.  She will sit, get toilet paper, put the toilet paper in the potty, and “flush.” She has yet to actually “use” the potty though!
  • She is a bit pickier with snacks now and likes to choose what she eats.  We usually give her 2-3 choices and let her point to what she wants.
  • Mandarin oranges are her new favorite fruit!
  • She’s using a fork really well now.  She concentrates so hard to get the food on the fork and is so proud of herself when she gets it in her mouth.  We’ve used a spoon a few times (for applesauce, yogurt, and ice cream), but that’s a little harder for her.
  • Gwynn’s vocabulary continues to grow…
    • She says “uh oh” if something goes wrong.
    • She says “nana” for “banana”
    • She says “top” instead of “Pop” and we think she says “Grandma” now
  • Gwynn is still very sweet, but we are starting to see signs of those “terrific” twos! She’s so dramatic when she doesn’t get her way and it’s getting harder and harder to just distract her when she’s upset.
  • She still really loves her brother.  Ms. Bonnie at daycare said that if they put Luke in another room to nap and Gwynn can’t see him when she comes into the room she’ll look all over for him until they tell her/show her where he is. She always wants to make sure he has a blanket and a pacifier and has even started trying to help us feed him his bottle.

Santa!

As you can clearly see, Gwynn did not enjoy seeing Santa this year. She was perfectly fine until we put her on his lap.  Luke on the other hand was totally fine with the big guy.

We had to wait in line for over 2 hours to see Santa, so Gwynn got in a lot of quality cousin time!

Playing around the house…

We got out the Fisher-Price nativity again this year for Gwynn to play with and she LOVES it! We ask her where baby Jesus is and she’ll point right to him!  She can also point to the angel and cow when asked.  She loves to “dance” to the music it plays and hear all of the animal sounds it makes.

We bought an Elmo potty for Gwynn.  She LOVES to go into the bathroom and sit on it.  She has yet to use it, but right now we’re just getting her interested in it.  She really enjoys the sound it makes when she “flushes.”

We registered for this Pea Pod tent, but had never even used it until now.  Gwynn thinks it’s so funny to “hide” inside it.

Grandma, Pop, Grace, Kate, Andrew, Jana, Caleigh, and Peyton came over to watch the SEC Championship game.  It was a close game, but we knew Bama would pull out the win!
