11 months old
- Only one more month until Gwynn is ONE!! So hard to believe. Jeff and I were talking the other day about how it feels like we were just staying at St.Vincent’s while Gwynn was in the NICU. She has definitely changed since those days!
- Gwynn is still a great sleeper. We’ve been home with her everyday during the summer so we get to put her down for naps…she’s usually awake when we lay her down, she’ll play a little bit, then fall asleep. After naps and in the morning, the only way we know she’s awake is she’ll turn on her aquarium and we’ll hear her playing.
- She now has seven teeth! There are four on the top and three on the bottom…one more is trying to poke through on the bottom too. This has definitely helped in her eating skills. She’ll pretty much eat anything we eat. Her favorite place to eat is Cracker Barrel…dumplings, pancakes, mac and cheese, biscuits…yum!
- Gwynn has taken about 6-8 steps numerous times. She still prefers to crawl since she’s so fast, but she’s starting to “walk” on her own without us sitting right next to her.
- She’s waving to everybody and everything now too. We’ll leave her room and she’ll start waving…it’s so cute. And the second you mention “bye bye” she starts waving her arm like crazy!
- She LOVES when we sing songs to her. Her favorite is by far “Pattycake.” When she’s eating, she’ll start clapping and expect us to start singing it…I think we’ve sung it about 1000 times so far. She also loves to play “This Little Piggy.”
- She has also learned to dance in the last month. She’ll play music on her toys or on the magnetic fridge farm and dance away…she loves when we join in on the dance party too!

Baby Brother!
We’re a little late in posting these pictures, but Gwynn is very excited that she’ll be a big sister in September!
Here’s a picture of our sweet little boy taken at the 20 week ultrasound.

Memorial Day in Tuscaloosa
After our trip to Mississippi, we headed to Tuscaloosa to spend time with Mommy’s side of the family. Uncle Jack, Aunt Michelle, Grace, and Kate were there to celebrate Memorial Day too!
I think Gwynn wanted to take Grovie home with her, but Kate would never let that happen!
“GET ME THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!”
In the car…going to visit Great Grandmom.
Great Grandmom was all smiles since she got to see all three girls today!
Gwynn loved sitting with Uncle Jack and Grace.
Gwynn enjoyed her time in Grandma and Pop’s pool a little better than last time we tried swimming!
She even got a mohawk!
She was having so much fun, until the shenanigans started…
Then she was happy just watching from the sidelines.

West Point, Mississippi (Day 2)
Gwynn is a morning person, daddy is not.
Gwynn experiencing a milestone – her first continental breakfast from a Holiday Inn Express in rural Mississippi. They grow up so fast.
We went to Mississippi for a reunion and Decoration Day. Sunday was when we went to the cemetery where some of Jeff’s side of the family is buried.
“Rural” doesn’t begin to describe it.
Perfect hiding place for critters.
Years ago this was an old wrought-iron fence but it has since been upgraded to a chain link fence.
City slickers enjoying a boiling hot day.
Daddy wanted to go someplace with indoor plumbing.

West Point, Mississippi (Day 1)
Gwynn was a champ in the hotel room. She took a nice nap in the afternoon and slept her normal 10 hours at night.
Here she is with my mom’s aunt Gladys.
Her house isn’t exactly baby proof. We had to be on constant alert to make sure she didn’t get ahold of anything dangerous.
Her favorite things to play with were coasters.
Gwynn thinks she’s a dog person until the dog actually pays attention to her.
Since the dog isn’t paying her any attention she’s trying to get to it.
Enjoying being the center of attention.
We went to to a local church for a family reunion for Jeff’s mom’s side of the family.
Gwynn has no issues with going to people she doesn’t know.
“Bye now! Y’all come back!”
Gwynn eyeballing somebody or something.
Quite the social butterfly.
Discussing the finer points of geopolitical posturing.
Gwynn is going to be in for a rude awakening when baby brother comes – she thinks she’s the center of it all.

Swimming–Take 2
This time we’d use warmer water and see if she liked it any better.
That would be a “no”.
After a few seconds she stopped crying and seemed to understand it wasn’t some type of torture device.
Like a frog dropped into a hot pan she tried to jump out a few times.
Here she is trying to get a taste of the bubble water.
Somehow this contraption has a rudimentary sprinkler system, and Gwynn wanted to figure it out.
Out we go.
Gwynn getting all dried off.
