Aunt Jennifer had her first Thanksgiving in her new house this year so we went over to see just how good a cook she is.
Gwynn was equipped for a wreck. She had her own little airbags of stuffed toys.
Anytime someone has an apron that appears to have been worn a few times it usually means the food will be good.
The bird.
Waiting for a turkey to cook takes forever so mommy had a libation to pass to time. Looks like Luke wanted some.
She is so proud.
“I was hungry an hour ago!”
The grown up table.
We took turns feeding the kids, especially Luke, because they’re kind of messy and Aunt Jen does not like a messy house.
Daddy does not dress up if he’s not leaving the house – even for Thanksgiving dinner.
Last time we came to Aunt Jennifer’s Gwynn had a hard time around the rug under the dinner table. She tripped at least a dozen times. We had just remarked how she did so much better this time when *SMACK* Gwynn tripped on the carpet and landed face first onto a chair. It bled and bled and Kristen thought Gwynn’s nose was permanently deformed. We put ice on it for a while and it eventually stopped bleeding and in the end it was fine, but for a while it was stressful.
Gwynn and Luke went outside after eating and had some fun playing in the yard.
Gwynn found lots of acorns, or as she calls them “a-nuts”
Luke found some of his own.
Searching for more a-nuts.
After eating all that turkey we decided to go to the park and burn off some of those calories. The kids had a lot of fun.
Luke needed a little help with the slide.
Mommy was better at it.
Gwynn could climb up the ladder like a pro.
She also loved going down the slides unassisted.
Luke needed more help on the bigger slides.
He’s a fearless little bug.
This was a bit much for him to ride on, but he really enjoyed knocking it around.
Aunt Jen enjoyed the swings.
We had it all to ourselves.
I think Luke would have preferred a swing that was for big kids.
Gwynn’s 11,325th time going down the slide.
Daddy is the coolest.
Surveying the playground.
Grandma looking a bit left out.
Luckily Luke came by to check in.
Walking around in the backyard looking for airplanes and the moon.
Luke is really hit or miss when it comes to smiling for photos.
One of the more fun things we did was go to the Chick-Fil-A dwarf house in Newnan. In addition to being a normal CFA it also has a sit down side with waiters and waitresses and an expanded menu. We went with Grandma and Gwynn to try it out.
It was delicious. Gwynn had a fun time too just being out and eating like a big girl.
We went out to eat after church on Sunday and Gwynn wanted to give Luke a big hug!
We found this giant sleigh while walking around downtown Newnan and decided to take a few pictures.
Everyone had some type of technology to use…even Luke was using Gwynn’s laptop.
The kids favorite part of being at Aunt Jen’s house is getting to see the kitty (next to seeing Aunt Jen of course). This was a rare opportunity when Gwynn actually got to pet Sam. Right after this picture was taken, Sam hissed at Gwynn and scared her off.
We had a great time visiting Aunt Jen and can’t wait to go back soon!!
